Alright, while this might look a
little complex... it really isn't. The first step is to get the
computer working with your 360 modem. Once you've accomplished
this through whatever means (either NIC or USB), then you'll need to
make sure you a have a second or spare NIC (Network Interface Card)
available to connect to the WAN side of the Router. Use a
crossover cable to go between the second NIC and the WAN port.
Assign the NIC connected to the
WAN port an IP address of 192.168.0.1 and subnet of
255.255.255.0. Now setup some kind of NAT based sharing
software. You can select from a wide range of choices, however,
the one that I've tested with this is Win2k's ICS. You should
also be able to use Winproxy in the same fashion since it also
implements a version of NAT that works with the 360.
Once you've got the ICS or
whatever up and running, go to the Linksys setup screen through your
browser and assign the WAN port a manual IP address of 192.168.0.2
with a subnet of 255.255.255.0. The gateway for this will be
192.168.0.1 and the DNS entries will be set to 148.78.255.200 and 148.78.255.201.
Now you can setup the routers DHCP
to use the starting address of 192.168.1.3 and above. Theses
IP's will be assigned to the client machines behind the router.
So in summary we have the following:
