Ok, so it took a while and boy have I got some time tied up in this baby. Live180! was a big hit with a lot of people when the Model 180's were released because you could see the status of your connection to the Modem from any and all network clients. The time has finally arrived to provide the ultimate control and notification client for a Starband Modem ever released.
Now what does this little jewel do? For starters it provides you with a familiar interface which mimics the Mission Control that Starband installs on the machine connected to the 360. So if any of the following items lose their connection you will know it;
You can also get a view of what your current signal quality is. And you can see all the important information about your connection at a glance, such as Modem IP, MAC Address, VSAT ID and many more. Notification: How about some type of Audible Notification when one of these things fails? No, problem. Now you have the option of selecting a wave file to be played so if you're away from your machine in another room, you can *hear* that you've got connection problems and can immediately address them if you wish.
You've also got the ability to Reset Flash on the 360 connection computer, or you can even reboot the 360 connected computer from any client you're running this on. The Server This program actually takes two pieces of software to make all this happen. You've got the client which is pictured above and then there's the server which is below.
Hmm? Doesn't look like there's a lot to the server does it. Well, that's because all the action on this piece happens in the background. Along with the client this one also features Audible Notification when problems arise. Now for the feature that I know you'll all love and want. This little bad boy will log any changes to any of the following items:
If the status of any one of the above changes it logs the date / time and the current status of that item. And then there is all that modem detail such as;
If any of those change it logs the date, time, the old info and what it was changed to. Now here's the important part. This program like all the other software I've written is just another benefit of being a member here, however, there is a change in this one. You must register the server portion of the software to continue it's use after 14 days. This registration does not cost you a single penny as long as you are a valid member here. The reason I've had to take this extra step, is that it has come to my attention that a few individuals were providing the software here on the site to their friends / customers who also had Starband but were not members of the site. For those of you who recommend to others that they signup here, I can't tell you how much I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. For if the support is not there, this site will not exist. Web sites around the globe are folding up left and right due to lack of funding and this is the main reason I chose to go with memberships, so please, don't install the software that I write and found on this site on peoples computers who are not members of Starbandusers.com Registration
As you can see, you're provided with a step-by-step registration process. Simply key in the Name and Email address you used to register here at Starbandusers.com and then click the "Request Registration" button. Usually within 24 to 48 hrs you'll get a ID Key back that will full unlock the software. The program will operate for 14 days without timing out, so take the time early on to request a registration. Remember, fill in two fields and click the button is all it takes. Once you get your ID string back, come back to this screen and key in or copy and paste in the key. Then click "Unlock".
