Membership FAQ
with Starbandusers.com
Please read thoroughly
Q: What is the cost of
the membership?
A: An easy $15.00 a
year. Consider one answered question by a local technician
could run you upwards of $100 per hour. Here you can ask all
the questions you want for $15.00 a year.
Q: What do I get with
my Membership?
A: You obtain the
ability to post questions in the forum areas of your choice and all
the free software utilities provided in the members software section
of the site for one full year.
Q: Can I have a refund
once I join?
A: There are no
refunds. The reason is because of potential abuse. People
could sign-up, ask their question get an answer and then say they
wanted their money back.
Q: Do you guarantee me
access 24/7?
A: As long as the
server is up, you should have access, however, since I don't have
physical control over the server there may be few occasions when it
is down shortly for maintenance. And as for the forums, those
too like most things will come down for short periods of time for
maintenance. But other than those two items, you should have
full 24/7 access.
Q: Will other people
have access to the software utilities?
A: Not unless they
were obtained prior to the site turning to membership or
illegally. Anything released after the membership changeover
will be only available to members. No more public
utilities. Membership has it's privileges.
Q: Can I email Ken
Knight with questions on how to fix my problems?
A: Yes you can,
however, the number of emails he receives each day is rapidly growing
into the hundreds, therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that you will
receive a response. However, it should be noted that he does
make every attempt to respond to all emails.
Q: Can I call him on
the phone and get him to walk me through a problem?
A: Your first and
foremost attempt at correcting your problem should always be the
forums, however, you are more than welcome to call and receive help,
but please understand that this is what his business (Help
Consulting) does and therefore you would incur hourly rate
charges. If this is something that you feel you need, you may
email him for current rates.
Q: Are there any
reasons that I could be banned from the forums?
A: Absolutely!
Obscenities and foul language will not be tolerated in the
forums. Expressing your opinion is one thing, but directing
language at individuals or companies in the members forum is strictly
forbidden. You will be warned once and the offending language
will be replaced by more appropriate and palatable language by a
forum moderator. A second offence would result in this
person be banned from the forum.
Q: Do I post my question anywhere
are is there a specific guideline for posting?
A: You will need to
think about what the topic of your post is and put it
in the appropriate forum. If it is related to
networking, put it in the "Networking" forum.
If it is "Off Topic" put it in the General
forum and so on. If there doesn't appear to be
a forum related to what you're wanting to post on, then
drop it in the general forum.
