This method utilizes either two ethernet cards OR one ethernet card and a USB adapter connected to the 360.

There is a video tutorial located here and then select the ICS on Win2k video. After watching this short video, look through here for the most common problems associated with setting up Win2k's ICS.  The video simply shows you how to turn on ICS under Win2k and does not go over installing additional NIC cards in your computer.

Common Problems

ICS turned on for the wrong adapter

Make sure that you turn on ICS for the adapter that the 360 is connected to and NOT the one that feeds back into your LAN.

DNS not working

Probably one of the most common problems I receive email about or see posts in the forums about is DNS issues.  What DNS does is converts (or resolves) the name address to a number address.  So if I type in Starbandusers.com, this name gets sent to a DNS server which looks up the numerical IP address for Starbandusers.com and sends back a response of 216.74.99.3 .

If you're seeing problems with email and other TCP applications that aren't being proxied through the RPA, then test your setup by dropping to a command prompt and type ;

ping excite.com

If you receive an "unknown host" error then you know DNS is not setup properly.

To correct this problem right click on the "My Network Places" icon on your desktop and choose the "Properties" menu.

From here, select the adapter that is connected to your internal LAN and right click and choose "Properties" again.

Now select "TCP/IP" and click the "Properties" button.

From this next window, you'll want to select the "Use the following DNS addresses" and then key in the ones listed in the graphic.

DHCP Not assigning LAN Adapter an IP address.

If for some reason your adapter is not responding to the DHCP server in the Win2k machine, then try manually assigning the information to that adapter.  Follow the steps above to get the TCP properties for the network card and then change the "Obtain an IP address automatically" to "Use the following IP address".  Your screen should look similar to the following:
